Exercise Rehabilitation
Therapeutic exercise has been a valuable and effective tool in developing strength and endurance, range of motion and flexibility. Our staff will help you perform specialized exercises that will strengthen and stabilize the injured area and allow the muscles and ligaments to heal properly. We facilitate our therapeutic exercises through the use of exercise windmill bikes, resistance bands, dumbbells and the simple use of our hands.
Therapeutic exercises can be performed by active care (patient involvement) and/or passive care (non-patient involvement). Properly performing exercises is a major factor in the rehabilitation and recovery of any musculoskeletal injury. In addition, active home exercises may be prescribed to help patients stabilize specific muscles that tend to be overused with the daily activities of home and work life. Ergonomic tips will be given to help the patient bend and lift correctly; furthermore, lumber cushions or belts may be recommended for long-term maintenance.
